Do we have the same opportunities?

Often a racist white person or ignorant to reality at best type of white person will say whites and blacks will have the same the opportunities in life. This is their attempt to discredit racism and to pretend it does not exist. They use people like Obama as their prime example saying that if he could get presidency then there is no stopping anyone. But what makes that argument false is the fact that the assumption everyone has the same opportunities is false.

Not only do whites and blacks each as a race have different opportunities in life, but even within the race. Another black man will not be elected president for probably another century. Obama's presidency has shown just how racist white america still is, and is even showing how many are reverting back to overt Jim Crow era behaviors. Many have become ultra-paranoid.

You can't say an inner city school is the same as a white suburban upper class school. In fact, that would only serve to show your ignorance and stupidity and lack of diversity and common sense if you sit there and actually say you can get the same opportunities from those same schools.

If you watch a movie like Freedom Writers, and see the kind of school there, under the false philosophy of having the same opportunities, would you willing go there rather than the school you go to already? Probably not, not if you know your school is better. And if you have to think or feel that your school is better, that obviously shows that you will not get the same opportunities.

One is only guaranteed death in life. That is the only thing everyone has.

Other than that, every single human is born with their own allotment of opportunities. It is up to that individual to take their given opportunities and make the most of them and take advantage of them. There are always going to be people who will try to guilt trip you out of your opportunities in a chance to better themselves over you...sometimes you have to be selfish and put yourself first and do not let others snatch up your opportunities.

There is no such thing as equality. Its something idealistic and in reality can actually hinder someone, because the real truth is if you are a person of color you will have to work twice as hard as a white person to get the half the results. Believing you are equal to that of a white person will actually put you at a disadvantage because then you do not take the necessary steps to put the playing field in your favor.

Its a dog eat dog world out there, its every person for themselves pretty much. No one has the same opportunities in life, it is best to find what yours are and make them work for you.
