Harry Reid

Harry Reid apologized recently for having said during the election,

"light skinned" African-American "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one."

The thing is, very few blacks are offended by this remark. Harry Reid is a Democrat, so we are for starters willing to forgive more easily. Secondly the Democrats aren't know for doing constant racist things repeatedly while defending them like the Republicans do. Also, we understand the reality of the comment.

He is echoing the sentiment shared by the majority of America. In order to become president, you have to be light skinned, and most importantly cannot talk Ebonics.

Republicans are in fact the only ones upset about this. But they are more upset by the fact that very few Democrats are upset by the comment. Sharpton himself was passe about the comment.

Republicans can't figure out why Democrats often call them out for racism but let a fellow Democrat go. Well the answer lies in the fact that Republicans have been racist too many times. There have been too many incidents. Its like the boy who cried wolf. They are racist so much, its impossible to tell if they are being racist or not about something else. When you have hate mongerers like Coulter, Limbaugh, and Beck on your wing, you deserve the criticism.

Reid didn't even use a racially insensitive word. Whenever someone uses "negro", we assume they are old because they are using an archaic word. Negro, like colored, was never an insult, it was to the 1950s and 60s what black and African American are today.

Whites should be more upset that he described the truth about White America in a nutshell. The fact that whites aren't upset that he made remarks that clearly underestimates a whole group shows that maybe he wasn't underestimating whites, they are what they are.

I personally don't agree with some of his political views but what he said is certainly not so bad compared to what Guiliani said about no terrorist attacks being made under Bush unlike Obama.
