I love old Hollywood, the movies of that era are so better than many movies today.
There are 3 women that I find to be interesting, and am looking to find more information about.
The first women is:
Lena Horne (born 1917)
Lena Horne was both an actress and a singer during the 30s and 40s.
Dorothy Dandridge (1922-1965)
Dorothy Dandridge was also a singer and actress
Fredi Washington (1903-1994)
Fredi Washington was an actress. She is probably best known for the movie Imitation of Life, in which she plays a mulatto girl who can pass for white, and tries to deny her black heritage. In real life, she was given the opportunity to have fame if she would deny her black heritage. She chose not to deny it.
All 3 of these women are black but achieved a little bit of fame in a time where blacks could only play roles such as the "mammy" like Hattie McDaniel did. I find their life stories to be interesting.

They were all so beautiful. I could always identify with them because of their mixed race heritage.
by the way I have found some information on lena before but I can't remember where. It was a long time ago. Her family was full of light skinned mixed bloods who intermarried.
