I don't think soldiers, cops, paramedics, firemen, teachers, etc are heroes.
Why? Because they are getting paid for what they do. A TRUE hero does something because its the right thing not because its their job in which they are being paid to do.
Ever since 9/11 people have been loosely defining what makes someone a hero. By peoples new definition of it, everyone is a hero.
A hero is a good samaritan (something that is rare nowadays out of fear of being sued by the person they are saving).
But it annoys me when someone labels someone a hero for doing the job they are paid to do.
People need to stop labeling someone a hero just like they need to stop idolizing people.
