Affirmitive Action

Sometimes I wonder if affirmative action helps or not.

It helps get qualified minorities jobs that they otherwise wouldn't get due to racism amongst those hiring.

But the problems with affirmative action are as follows:

1. Whites respond to the quoata system by not hiring anymore minorities once they have filled their quota. This is a catch 22 concept...AA exists due to racism in hiring. Bosses decide due to their racist beliefs not to hire any more minorities once the quotas had been filled thus reinforing why affirmative action is needed, because, these same racist people wouldn't hire any minorities from the get go because of racism if affirmative action didn't exist.
   
2. It makes white people think you are under qualified. When Obama became president people said it was because of AA...the same when Charlie Bolden became NASA administrator (ironically Bolden has real space travel and military experience, something most of the past administrators can't say for themselves). Worse though is when you are chosen legitly over the white person, due to the white person's racist beliefs they assume it was because of AA (God forbid the minority is actually more qualified and worked harder than the white person).
3. Blacks least benefit from AA. They tend to equate different minority groups as the same when they aren't. In fact, women even benefit more than blacks do.
4. White people tend to find a way around affirmative action, so its almost like its not even there.
5. Finally, if you are hired because of AA, the coworkers will treat you badly even if you are just as qualified...because they don't want you there and they want you to know it.
   

Most of us minorities know that in order to get anywhere, we have to work twice as hard as a white person.

There was a study that showed that black men who had no record and were more qualified lost out to a white person who had a jail record and was less qualified for the job.

If that doesn't tell you how racist society is, nothing will. I mean, who seriously chooses someone that does bad for their business simply because they are white? Obviously only racists who don't care for profit.

I know some businesses are now implementing rules where you can be overqualified for something (all in the name of saving a dollar).

Blacks are backed into a corner...they have to be very qualified to get a job or to even just get an interview, much more than the white person...but now businesses say they won't hire anyone who is overqualified.

Its like every time a black person finds a way to beat the system, whites come up with new and inane ways of pushing them back down.

This is why blacks need to be like the Jews and Asians and Native Americans, and start creating their own towns and systems.

We did it before, during Jim Crow, we could do it again.

Obviously integration doesn't work...you already have racist whites wanting to legalize racial profiling (although if anyone should be profiled its white people).

Racism is such a big problem for the black community because we heavily depend on whites (the diasdvantage to an integrated society).
